When the check engine light went on in my 1996 Toyota 4 Runner Limited, I had Jeff at Lundes check it out. He was doing some other minor work on it, but he told me the computer was going out on it, and that it would not pass smog the next time around, which was coming up in a couple months. He said there was only one, new part available in the U.S. for $1400 as they no longer make the part. Otherwise there was a guy he knew that rebuilds them start to finish, but it involved 2 weeks downtime. The car was my wife's and has low miles, and is in good condition, so it warranted the fix. Fast forward to my DMV registration coming due. I asked Jeff to heck the database for salvage yards, and lo and behold I get lucky.. they located one for $200 just up the road. I told them to snag it and asked the labor cost which was a little over half the amount of the part, and a same day fix. Talk about relief! These guys care about your care, but more importantly, they care about your budget too. I highly recommend them if you want a trustworthy mechanic that won't milk you all the way to the bank.
