The vehicle was towed in for a requested alternator replacement. It was also noted to inspect for a brake fluid leak. The alternator was replaced, the brake leaks were fixed and the vehicle was picked up running and driving with a charging alternator and functioning brakes. Prior to the alternator replacement we did take it upon ourselves to verify that it was not charging, just in case. There were a few recommendations from our safety inspection noted as well after the vehicle was up and driving. We received a call a few days later that the car was having issues running. The customer was asked to bring the vehicle back in to get it checked out. She asked if she would have to pay, and she was informed that if there was something inadvertantly caused during the repairs that we did then absolutely not, but if it is having any other issues unrelated to the alternator replacement that was requested, she would be liable for any diagnostics and/or repairs that may be needed. After having this conversation I think 3 times and getting hung up on each time, I am not sure what we can do to help at the moment other than to keep offering to check the vehicle out.
