Friendly service with excellence in mind
When I first arrived, I wasn't really greeted or directed any which way. So I just parked and got out I my car and headed to the office where you wait. That was all fine and expected because the mechanic was in mid conversation with a customer who was driving an Audi, so to be expected on my part cause I drive a 2003 Pontiac grand am... Which I don't care, I love the car, plus it has a great system in the back. Anyways, so I wait until the fancy guy leaves, then I'm greeted by Emett, who by first meet seems very friendly and welcoming. So he asks me about my car, which at this point is pretty beat up, my car tire blew out at some point last month and it left my cars front bumper hanging, and well the washer tank has a leak too. That has yet to be fixed, however my main focus was to just tune up and get an oil change, maybe fix the front bumper if there was time. I needed to be at work at 5, so I was in a little bit of a crunch but not too much. And so Emett proceeded to get my car tuned up and had asked if I could come back at 4, I said sure, and that I would try and find a food spot to chill in the mean time. Emett gave me a number of local spots to choose from and I headed out on my skateboard to find a place. I ended up at the city diner down the street and got myself a philly cheese steak that was delicious and inexpensive, I think I paid about 12 bucks for my meal including tip. So that was good. Then I proceeded to head back to the shop, and see how things where coming along. Now since I was on my board I was moving at a good pace still so I know not much time had elapsed, however when I returned they had my car up on the lift and progress was being made so I went to the office and decided to wait in the ac and read a magazine, which I did for a little while until I ended up falling asleep on the couch. This was probably the best part about my experience at new age automotive, only because I never really feel comfortable enough to sleep at a shop. Not that that is what I'm looking to do when I get my car tuned up, it's just nice that I could catch a cat nap in the middle of the day without being disturbed for while my car was being fixed. Then once I awoke, Emett was back in the office and doing some work on his computer and paperwork, so I went back to the magazines. Then Emett had asked me if I like coffee and if I had tried Colombian coffee before, I said yes to coffee and no to not trying Colombian kind, so he offered me some of his own, which was really kind and amazing. The coffee was essentially espresso poured over sugar and was delicious, and helped pick me up again. So at this point my car was being lowered and was about finished almost an hour before he had said in the beginning so that was great! Once I paid for the work, I was on my way. Definitely will be going back soon to get the rest fixed up, and to get some new tires. All in all it was a really great experience, and I highly recommend anyone who has excellent service in mind; they should go to new age auto. It's a little more pricey than the commercialized places, but it's so worth it because you know your going to get the best service, and my car now runs like a champ!
