They know Mercedes but I am not sure I'd come back.
First, we liked Greg very much but the detail requested later when the problem recurred, left doubt of what exactly was needed originally. They put in a new conductor plate into my transmission. They added about a $100 up charge on the part and used and aftermarket non-mercedes part. (Some up charge is standard.) Driving cross country I had the same serious transmission problem on a freeway 3 days later. The second shop claimed there WAS fluid in the computer module, a common issue with these Mercedes transmissions. The mechanic at Scheller I spoke to said there was no fluid when he had checked it. Once I saw the photos taken by the mechanic in Denver and saw the fluid lines running across the computer module it appeared there had been a fluid issue. The Denver shop washed and reassembled the parts as Mercedes instructs and I had no more issue. Was that the original issue? Did I really need a conductor plate? Maybe so, but the mechanic told me that if he had seen fluid he would have recommended a new computer module also! That's what made me think this shop would have given me repairs I did not need. Washing the parts is an easy and cheap fix for the fluid leak issue and has fixed my transmission in the past for me. Scheller does not print out the fault codes as some shops do. Everyone there was sincerely friendly and helpful but even with the 10% discount, after the part mark-ups, my bill was more than 3 other shops said they would have charged for the conductor plate. So, I would not go back.
