When a side window glass has a "quarter sized" rock chip in it, a crack can develop and spread easily. Unless the glass is physically broken-it is not a rejectable state inspection item. We honestly do not know when the glass problem went from a chip to a crack. It may have happened when the vehicle was parked after inspection and the door was closed. Ms. Savage also admitted it got hit by a rock already the day before, which is not brought up in this review. We did not say "slamming" the door would cause that. We said shutting a door with the glass up and it already having a large chip in it can cause a crack to spread. This is an unfortunate situation for Ms. Savage but we cannot be responsible for a side glass that was already significantly damaged.
