Started off ok. But went down hill from there. Before making an appointment, I called and specifically asked if the Airport Blvd location had a mechanic who was experienced with classic cars (67 Mustang). I was told they did. Made an appointment and was advised that my vacuum advance needed replaced and I needed a timing adjustment. That was completed but did not resolve the issue entirely. Big kudos to Mike for continuing to troubleshoot. It had been a few days since I’d heard anything so I called about an hour before closing on a Friday (5 Apr) but no one answered the phone. So I drove over to find out my car had been moved to the 12th avenue location unbeknownst to me. I was told that the mechanic at 12th avenue was more experienced with carburetor issues - why wasn’t I recommended to take it to 12th Ave in the first place? Drove by the 12th Ave location on Saturday morning (6 Apr), to see my car sitting outside in the back lot. While never contractually agreed upon, while my car was at the Airport Blvd location, I was assured it would be kept inside when the shop was closed. I should’ve been told the car was being moved and advised if they were not going to be able to keep it inside. I would’ve happily paid my bill up to that point and taken my car home to put in my garage. Then returned the following week for the continued troubleshooting at 12th Ave. My car ended up back at Airport Blvd with a diagnosis of a “bad carburetor”. The sales team at Airport advised me they would work up some options for repairs and notify me asap. 2.5 days later, after hearing nothing, I went to the Airport Blvd location and picked up my car. I got a timing adjustment, advance vacuum (~50 dollar part), and multiple diagnostics charges to the tune of an $800 total bill. While I think that’s steep, I’m not nearly as concerned about that as I am with the poor communication from the staff. Needless to say, I will be looking elsewhere for my future automotive needs.
