Another damaged car with a supposedly clean Carfax report
I visited Toyota Universe in Little Falls, NJ in February 2020, just before the pandemic hit. That visit entailed a 15 minute search of their entire lot to find the RAV4 advertised with a "clean Carfax report". After walking the entire lot in 38 degree weather the rep found the car; severely dented and scraped on both front quarter panels and with holes in the grill. As he attempted to explain that these were only cosmetic issues and that he could easily have them repaired he leaned on the front bumper and it fell off; if I wasn't so annoyed I would have found it hilarious. Fast forward to today, 10/09/21 and I spoke by phone to Greg, who claimed to be a manager. We made an appointment to meet and discuss a 2015 RAV4, again boasting a clean Carfax, and he assured that he would not waste my time. When I arrived the front desk called him, he arrived a few minutes and asked if I could wait "a second" while he finished up something. I agreed, but 15 minutes later he was still not assisting me; apparently he was not going to work with me, he was looking for someone to whom he could hand me off. Finally, as you may already have guessed, the rep that he assigned to me took me to the car and it was damaged; the bottom of the rear liftgate was caved in, the left rear quarter panel was smashed and a very bad and lumpy Bondo job had been applied above the plastic bumper. I refused the test drive and left in disgust. When I returned home I received a text from Alexander Fiducia asking why I had not purchased a vehicle on this visit. Rather than texting him in response I decide to call him directly at 6:55PM; the receptionist tried to put me through but then informed me that she would have him call me back directly from his office. It is now 8PM and no call back. My best advice is to avoid this dealership unless all other options have failed. Do not make the same mistake as me and give them a second chance to waste my time; for every 1 good review they may have earned I have read 3-5 very poor reviews. Good luck out there.
