Transmission at 80,000
We purchased this vehicle new in 2021 and have used it for art fairs, in addition to being a daily driver, since then.
We used the passenger van more as a cargo van by folding the seats down to load totes and display pieces into the space. For art fairs, we would load around 500 pounds worth of items into the van to transport around the Midwest.
While the Transit was mostly reliable, we noticed early on that it struggled to climb a small hill at the end of our road, even when not loaded. More recently, we noticed the transmission slipping as the vehicle lunged and the revs surged. We had some transmission treatments performed at a local shop until the symptoms showed again and threw a code that indicated a full transmission rebuild was in order.
We were able to trade the vehicle in and not lose money but are clearly disappointed in the longevity experienced as we had hoped to hold onto this van until a larger vehicle was necessary.
