Ok. Right.
We paid $100 for them to tell us it we needed to change our spark plugs, which we decided to do ourselves bc with all of the upselling, they wanted a total of over $400 to change our spark plugs. No thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your review.  Your comments from your recent visit are appreciated and taken seriously at Aspen Auto Clinic.

The first $100 mentioned in your review was for the diagnostic testing.  We do a free visual courtesy inspection but if we can not find the problem with a visual inspection, our technicians at times require more time and more complex tools to be able to diagnose the problem. When this happens, we first inform the customer that diagnostic testing is necessary and get an approval for this to be done. Upon approval, more thorough diaganotic testing can be perfomed on the vehicle.

Once we diagnose the problem we then are able to make an estimate for the work that needs to be done to correct the problem.

Our Service Advisors get the estimate written up and explain what needs to be done to have the problem fixed to the customer.

With a Nissan Altima, there is more to be done than just changing the spark plugs.  The particular vehicle requires that the intake manifold be removed to access the area where the spark plugs are located.  Then once the spark plugs are replace all of that must be put back as well.  This specific model car and where the spark plugs are located would be approximately a 3 hour job.

The price you were quoted for this particular job is a fair and competitive price and also includes the work performed by one of our ASE Certified Technicians and is backed by our 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.  We warranty both the parts and the work done by our technicians.  We also make sure that all manufacturers recommendations are done for the specific job being performed.

Although replacing spark plugs sounds like a simple thing, some vehicles may have vehicle specific needs that make a particular job a bit more complex than they sound.

We apologize if we, in some way, did not communicate to you all that was necessary to complete and correct the problem for your Nissan.  If you have any questions about this specific estimate you were given or if we can assist in any way, please feel free to contact our Customer Relations Department and we will be happy to go over things with you in more detail.

Again, thank you for choosing Aspen Auto Clinic for your vehicle needs.  We look forward to serving you.
