Shelly,
Thank you for the feedback and the trust you have given to us over the years changing your oil on your 3 vehicles.
A heater core replacement is a very in depth repair and requires more than just removing and replacing the failed component. It also is buried in such a location the time needed for the job is very involved. Once replaced, the cooling system needs flushing and the A/C system needs recharging. I apologize we did not articulate this when you brought the truck to us.
Regarding the parts; shopping for a part online or even at a local parts store is significantly different than an Approved Repair Facility installing that part. When we install a part we take ownership for everything affiliating with that part. To include; the labor to install, the items that may fail during the installation (worn plastics that may break upon dash removal) and if that part were to fail in the next 3 years. I'm sure you can imagine the headache involved with all of that responsibility. When buying online or even shopping a Parts Provider (Not an Auto Repair Facility) those are variables that do not come in to play but you the consumer would take on.
I hope this explains some of the differences between shopping for parts online compared to us performing a Complete Repair while in our facility.
Feel free to call me or come see me at the store if further clarification is needed, we have worked before in the past.
Sincerely,
Matt
