3 weeks (and counting) for a turbo
3 weeks ago today, I brought my car to the shop with the suspicion of a bad fuel pump due to a letter I received in the mail. One week later, I finally received a phone called and was informed that the turbo needed to be replaced (diagnostic stage finally complete). A week and a half later, I got a call that the mechanic finally began to work on the car but it also needed a hose that was an additional $158, but no extra labor would be charged. At this point, I am beginning to think that the mechanic was being rough, broke the hose, and they are charging the customer for the mistake, rather than biting the bullet themselves. Fast forward to today, which is 4 days after that call and 3 weeks since dropping the car off, and I finally stopped in to check on the status and was told the hose had just been delivered, but the mechanic has been out sick and they do not know when the car will be completed. If this was a mom and pop shop, I feel this would be an acceptable excuse, but being a dealer with multiple mechanics, I have some serious concerns here. Just because the car is in the shop does not mean that the notes stop, and I was not even offered a loaner.
