Within (26) business days my car was parked at Dick Smith Hyundai in Greenville the Service Department only called me (5) times, every other conversation between me and this dealership was solely initiated by me. Chris King (Service Advisor) was very persistent with the runarounds and empty promises of when my car would be diagnosed, let alone be fixed. Aaron Pace (Service Manager) talked to me once, on July 29th, to express how Hyundai`s Hotline is now involved because his (24) year expert technician is stomped with my vehicle and cannot diagnosis the issue. After (5) days without a call from the Service Department with a car update, I reached out to Roy Gilliam (General Manager) on August 4th. Roy Gilliam`s (General Manager) tone changed mid conversation when he discovered I did not buy my vehicle from this Dealership and expressed “his” customers are their priorities. Having mentioned this, every communication hassle and micromanagement needed to get answers just for the results to be ignorant. The Service Department prematurely diagnose my car with the starter being the reason my car would not start. Yet, it took a (24) year Master Hyundai Mechanic with the help of Hyundai’s Hotline to tell me that information in (2.5) weeks, just for it to not be the fix all solution. Once they replaced the starter my car idled roughly and did not want to drive, to which they found the 3rd cylinder`s fuel injector being the new issue, despite me informing Chris King (Service Advisor) with code P0303 the first day my car arrived.
All in all, (30) days later I left with a $2,846.47 invoice and the best Dick Smith Hyundai of Greenville could do for me on that price, with all things considered, was deduct $200.00 (this credited amount Chris King (Service Advisor) verbally told me that Aaron Pace (Service Manager) deducted already and that the price displays this discount), on the contrary, it in fact displayed a $173.70 mark-up in parts alone per OEM Hyundai Parts Direct. After my month-long service experience with Dick Smith Hyundai of Greenville, I left feeling absolutely mistreated and taken advantage of simply because I was not sitting in the waiting room, nor did I purchase my vehicle from this dealership. Either way, this resulted in my car issues not being considered promptly nor a priority after weeks of being at their shop and they proved that repeatedly.
After explaining my concerns of my customer service experience to Judson Smith (CFOO, of Dick Smith Automotive Group), he expressed they managed my vehicle concerns the best they could with the staff shortage and would be willing to consider goodwill (discount) towards future repairs, to help relieve me from my current frustrations and disappointment with this Dealership. Actions speak louder than words and I will never referrer an acquaintance, friend, or family member to this Dealership, let alone be naïve enough to bring my vehicle back. Moral of the story, just because the dealership has your vehicles’ brand name within their business title and has a certified Service Department for that specific brand, does not guarantee you they are not mediocre mechanics at an unorganized and dishonest facility.
