Ms. Benton,
We are disappointed by the impression you have of us after your recent tire blowout.
Obviously, getting a flat tire is never a pleasant experience. Often it seems our cars purposely get a flat at the least opportune times, in fact, it is unlikely there is ever a “good” time for a flat.
The tire we replaced for you had a hole in the sidewall. The tires on your Hyundai did come with a warranty provided by the tire manufacturer for defects in workmanship or materials only. Typically these defects would be discovered in the first 3 to 6 months of use. After that period it is very difficult to substantiate a defect especially in the case where there is a blowout and sidewall damage.
It is uncertain what the others you mentioned saw in the pictures of your tire, but defects are generally limited to tread block separations or out of round conditions, damage to the sidewall and this type of blowout really cannot be attributed to a defect.
Road hazard injuries like this are an undesirable part of driving, but the tire damage they inflict is not within the control of the manufacturer and would not be covered by the limited tire warranties. Regardless of its quality, no tire is indestructible.
We are so that sorry this happened to your Tucson, and appreciate that you came to us only because you were stranded away from your regularly servicing dealer.
The Tucson came in just a bit before 3pm and the work was completed at 3:32pm, your Tucson went straight into the shop, straight to the technician, and was treated immediately by all of our staff as an emergency repair. Although it may be small consolation at this point, the tire you purchased, like all of our Hyundai replacement tires does come with a road hazard warranty, and if you have a similar incident with this tire in the next 24months, there would be warranty coverage at that time. That coverage is good at any Hyundai dealer anywhere.
Please accept our apologies for the circumstances under which we met. We did our best to provide you with the highest level of service and make the best of an unpleasant situation.

I am a 72 year old woman. I trusted him, but when I called my son in law he told me to take a picture of the tire. I did, and other men including the people at Discount tire said the tire looks defective in the pictures.
Too late for me I guess, but would I recommend Earnhardt? NO. It also took almost two hours to get the tire changed.
I have written to Hyundai,,,,,,,,this is my third new car Hyundai purchase. I love Hyundai. First time I have ever been dissatisfied with my service .
