I dropped off my car for a by state inspection and oil change. Didn't really need either right away but saw an opportunity. I headed to work and got the phone call that my front breaks were low, the belt needed to be changed, the cabin and oil filter needed to be changed, and it could all be done now. I felt pressured and had to work, so I passed the conversation off to my father who works with garages in Ny. He couldn't be there to see the parts but the woman on the phone explained the services were well priced, and that all of these things should get done. He gave the ok and the bill amount to $540! Money I had but had been saving for a new move. My fault for passing along the call to my dad but I had told the guy i couldn't afford any additional work.
Pro-there prices for parts and services are average, not overpriced.
