Mr Gilchrist,
I apologize for your disappointment and miscommunication during your last visit to our store. I have investigated your situation and have determined the following details. Your leak was detected to be from the bead area of the tire/wheel. This is the area where the tire seals up to the wheel. Over time this area on the wheel can become corroded and can compromise the way the tire seals to the wheel. There was nothing wrong with the tire, the leak was caused by the corrosion on the wheel. To remedy this issue we clean the corrosion off of the wheel and put some bead sealer on wheel to help maintain the seal between the tire and wheel. This does require labor and labor costs that are consistent with a normal tire repair. The age of the tire is not the factor in this situation. We offer a Tire Protection Plan at the time tires are purchased that covers this repair and other benefits. You did not choose to purchase this Plan and therefore we charged you our normal tire repair fee. As for the other 3 tires, as long as you are not experiencing slow leaks there is not anything to worry about. I hope this explanation helps you to understand that in this instance it was not an issue with the tire but an issue with the wheel. We take very serious your comments to us and we absolutely appreciate your business. We hope you will allow us to serve you again as your needs arise. Thank you.
