Spoke with Joyce. She said she had taken her vehicle in previously, and they had already worked on the problem. They had run a diagnosis, they charged her for it, and they said nothing was wrong with the vehicle, but the power has still been going in and out. Soon afterwards, as soon as she drove away, the problem stopped. Whatever it was, now it's fixed. The visit was a recall for the crankshaft that affected the steering and the power. It's a 2005 Highlander and she is pretty unhappy. Also, the representative she spoke with did something rather rude to her. It was a bad experience, and she has been with Toyota since 1984, but now she is looking at Kia. They did wash her vehicle, and they gave her a rental free of charge, which they always do, and that is wonderful. She paid for the alignment, but she had known about that and it was fine, but she had to pay for the diagnostic. The mechanic did a test drive on it and said he felt nothing, but to her, it felt like the vehicle was having an asthma attack. It was going in and out of cruise control. The vehicle would lag, and then catch up. It just lost power, and it was very frustrating. She had to pay for the diagnostic, but she had it in 1 or 2 months before for it. They said if they had not done the recall completely or if they had screwed up the last time, she would not have to pay for the diagnostic, but they did charge her. Her husband brought the vehicle in, but the man she spoke with on the phone when she made the appointment was rather rude, and she had never had that experience before with Toyota of Puyallup. He was very impatient, which was surprising. Joyce reiterated she had never before had that experience with Toyota, and she thought she had called the wrong place. It was very weird. She was not satisfied with communication when she called, due to his impatience. Due to this experience she would not recommend them.
