Unsafe frame rust, failed inspection, and still unresolved
I bought a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado from Amey’s Garage in February 2023. Within a few months the rear bumper already showed significant rust. By May 2026 the truck failed a Pennsylvania safety inspection at an independent shop specifically for a rotted and rusted frame. The undercarriage photos show advanced structural corrosion that makes the vehicle unsafe to drive.
This is not normal wear after a few years. The early rust and the official inspection failure for a deteriorated frame point to a serious problem that should have been identified and disclosed before the sale. Amey’s response has been dismissive, claiming the truck passed inspections at the time and offering only limited, conditional help while the safety issue remains unfixed.
I have filed a formal consumer complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection over this matter. It is still active and unresolved. I am not dropping this. A dealership that sells a truck that later fails inspection for a rotted frame and then fails to make it right needs to be held accountable.
Until this is properly resolved, frame repair by a qualified shop, buyback, or meaningful compensation for the safety defect, I will continue to pursue every available avenue and will keep the public record updated. Other buyers should know exactly what they may be dealing with.
