dishonest and overpriced
Had my son's 2012 VW Touareg TDI towed in the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. We were on our way to trade it in. It had lost power on 25 and would not restart. We are fairly new to the area so I did a search on my phone for a Euro service center and Aspen came up. I called and they had a tow truck in route fast. It was a holiday weekend 3 in the afternoon. They were honest and said it was unlikely they would be able to look at it that day but assured me they would the next Tuesday. I told them we were leaving for vacation the next Thursday. The following Tuesday I received a prompt text asking me to approve a $340 to diagnose. This is not normal btw most shops do that for free. Now they claim they did that and had to run a ton of tests. So I hear nothing that day. Wednesday afternoon I call they are again very pleasant told me they were working on it and would call me by the end of the day. Nothing, so I call again and same story. Thursday leaving for vacation nothing. So I don't call until the following Monday. Same BS. Today the 8th I get a diagnosis, bad fuel pump module. I can tell you from calling VW that this would come up in a basic scan. I wanted to be fair. VW would have charged $99 for this. The quote almost $400 more than the dealership plus the $241. I asked the shop rate and I quoted we charge different amounts. No that's not how that works. Shady very shady. I confronted them and shared I sold my shop 3 years ago I know a bit about this business. I offered them another opportunity to earn my business. They doubled down on the lies and BS. Aspen auto we don't go to non-dealerships to pay more. When asked point blank the shop rate when you gave me a quote, and you can't answer wow. No justification for that ever.
