I started my journey to find someone to do a front end alignment on my wife's car by calling a couple of independent shops near our place 100 miles away from this one. They were willing, but couldn't see us within 24 hours, and that was what we needed. I then went to the website of a 'major auto parts/auto repair chain' who I won't name, but they have three dudes names in all their advertising. I had an alignment done there a few years back and was satisfied, except for the 4 hour day at the shop. I decided to book an appointment, and used their online service to do that. Oddly, it showed the entire day wide open, so I decided to confirm the slot (2 pm) via phone to make sure it was firm. The manager that answered the phone told me that "well, I never get those online appointments anyway... there will be three ahead of you". Keep in mind I am driving 100 miles to get there. I told the gent that since I didn't actually have an appointment, don't bother cancelling it. From there I called a friend who we would be visiting with, and he sent me (without question) to Auto Pros. My initial call was handled professionally, as was our arrival, and our service needs. Lo and behold, my shadetree instincts were incorrect, and found that we had a dangerously defective tire. An ordinary shop might have simply performed the (unnecessary) alignment, and accepted my check while I drove away in danger. These folks spotted the problem, addressed it, and got us on our way. Exceptional, and rare. I made it a point of introducing my wife to the team, as this is the sort of place where I can feel comfortable sending family to get work done, and I don't have to stand over top of them to insure we are being treated fairly. At my age I don't worry so much about the amount of the bill, as the amount of confidence I get in paying it. Thanks, and loved meeting you guys. We'll be back.
