Wendell, we are very sorry to hear you were unhappy with the service you received. Unfortunately, we cannot control how long it takes A/c dye to circulate the system allowing other issues to become more apparent as time goes on. We did have a defective aftermarket fan which does happen and is out of our control and we did our best to make it right. The original failing fan clutch caused the A/C hose to blow from excessive pressure in the system. Once we recharged with freon again the condenser then started to leak which is up near the radiator and not related to the original repair. Dye can sometimes take days or weeks to show itself which we cannot control.
I initially took my 2017 Nissan Armada there for routine maintenance, which seemed to go fine. About a month later, my air conditioning stopped blowing cold air. D&R charged me approximately $2,000 for the repair. However, when I picked up the vehicle, it was making an extremely loud noise—so loud that it sounded as if a truck were driving beside me. My Armada had never made that noise before the repair.
When I brought it back, I was initially told that I should simply live with the noise because it was supposedly normal for the replacement fan. It turned out that the fan installed was not an OEM part. D&R eventually replaced it at no additional charge, and the noise disappeared—confirming that the original part or installation was defective.
Unfortunately, within a week, the air conditioning stopped blowing cold air again. When I returned to the shop, I was told I would need to pay another $1,100 to fix the problem. That is unacceptable. Whatever issue remained should have been properly diagnosed and addressed during the original $2,000 repair. I was especially frustrated that they expected me to pay approximately $800 in additional labor for work related to a repair they had just performed.
After spending $2,000, my air conditioning still does not work properly. The initial repair exposed a new problem, the original issue was not resolved, and I was then asked to pay even more money to correct it. And instead of understanding my frustration Jenn just defended her mechanics work. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend D&R Automotive and would not feel comfortable trusting them with my vehicle again.
