Refused to work on vehicle older than 10 years old.
I called ahead to setup an appointment for a simple alignment. Confirmed time. Left work for him to tell me he only works on cars 10 years or newer.
The Team At DPS A. from DPS Automotive responded on 07/14/2026 08:50 AM

We'd like to clarify the circumstances of your visit.

This was not a simple alignment. When you arrived, your 2001 Mercedes had multiple pre-existing suspension and wheel bearing concerns and had already been evaluated by several other repair facilities. As you explained to us, the vehicle had recently been to another repair shop, had been quoted extensive repairs, and you had just come from a local used tire shop where an attempt was made to tighten the loose wheel bearing before coming to us.

Based on the condition of the vehicle, its repair history, and the extent of the work required, we determined that we were not the appropriate shop for the job and recommended that it be taken to a Mercedes specialist experienced with older models.

The appointment should not have been scheduled as a routine alignment before we knew the condition of the vehicle. However, once we saw the vehicle and discussed its history, we chose to be upfront rather than accept work we could not confidently perform.

Our priority is providing quality repairs. Sometimes that means declining work that falls outside our scope instead of charging a customer for repairs we cannot properly stand behind.
