First words from saleman's mouth were lies up front. We asked about particulars on a vehicle and it wasn't, "oh, I'm not sure" it was straight opposite of what was on carfax history.
Upon request for full inspection before purchase, it was declined. A one yr old pre-owned vehicle that had an extensive service history...transmission replaced, etc. they offered no information about this, and declined further certified inspection, nor any kind of warranty for this. Had to find out extent of work done on vehicle from previous dealership before it went up for auction. Gresham Subaru said it hadn't come in from auction, but from a local trade-in. Carfax indeed shows it did come from auction with a very concerning history. Shouldn't have to investigate so in depth on our own to get straight, honest answers.
Appears to me, they have vehicles on their lot that need serious maintenance before they're sold. In my opinion, they are passing lemons on to unsuspecting buyers. As a buyer, I highly recommend doing your due diligence on any/every vehicle. Don't trust dealer staff, it would seem they are not working in your best interest. This is worrisome for the unsuspecting buyer. Especially knowing that they indeed know the history of this vehicle. How many more? How many people have been duped?
Full disclosure up front, and honesty/integrity go a long way with potential customers.
We are a hardworking local family and we expect better from our local businesses, shame on them!
It may be unbelievable, but there really are local honest car salesmen/dealers out there; in our experience Gresham Subaru is not one. We actually gave them the opportunity to right their wrong, and they chose not to. ?
Buyer beware.
