In 2018 I purchased a Toyota Tacoma. I also bought the extended warranty. The truck has served me well. Absolutely no complaints about the vehicle. However, on Monday I backed out of my driveway-no problem. Went to put tranny in "D" but it would not move. Jiggled and jiggled and it went into drive but the "D" light did not illuminate. Started to go forward but it jumped in and out of gear with a grinding sound. Stopped and called a tow truck ($80) to take back to Hertrich. Today they called and said it was done. The said a Shift switch was corroded, they cleaned it and it works fine They also said it would be $129.95. This is a $40K + vehicle, 4 wheel drive that's never been "off road" and a simple switch shut it down. Well, they now want to charge me $129.95 for diagnostic. The factory warranty expired by several weeks. It expired not because of mileage but it was several weeks over 3 years.
Well they would not honor the extended warranty. The service tech was not sure why. The $129.95 was for diagnostic. I was then told my contract (several thousand dollar extended warranty) has a $100 deductible. Ok I said why am I charged $29.95 over the $100 deductible. Again: I dont know. Cashier did not know either. The man who sold me this extended warranty was not available. I left my contact info with a salesperson. She wanted me to talk to the "manager" but I did not and was not in the mood for any more "lip service". I left. No one even tried to contact me to explain this situation.
Over a year ago I took my Chevy Corvette to them. They replaced brakes and AC condenser. Over $2K. Had a problem with front tire pressure sensor. They looked at it, charged $75 diagnostic and said I will need to go to a GM dealer for service.
This is MY EXPERIENCE. YOU may want to think twice before entering into any dealings with this questionable dealership. They should be ashamed of the way they handle their customers
