Thank you for the call today I'm very sorry for the inconveniences we may cause. Like I explained over phone replacing a drain plug on time on any vehicle will save thousands in unnecessary engine repairs, understanding that you still fill it was not necessary and we respect your opinion. When I took my car in for an oil change, I was told that although there was no leakage, the o-ring on the bolt was wearing thin, and the bolt needed to be replaced. I asked why they couldn't just replace the o-ring/gasket, but they said they did not carry replacements.
Then, when I questioned the need, I was told that it was really the threads on the bolt that were getting thin and created a danger of bolt shearing upon tightening and not an o-ring problem. I allowed them to replace it, but I also asked them to give me back my original bolt.
I took it to Ford, and they said it was fine. This all took place on a newer vehicle that has had at most 8 oil changes. I feel I was scammed...
