I paid premium money for what was promised to be a reliable 700 HP ProCharged build. Instead, the car only made around 565 HP, and after only about 4,000 miles the motor failed completely.
After the failure, I was told it was “bad gas,” but later I found out the motor had been built with internals intended for a naturally aspirated setup — not a boosted ProCharged application. I even have messages from Hodges Performance confirming the motor was built for N/A use. In other words, I paid for a proper boosted setup and ended up with a ProCharged stock-style motor that was never built to handle the power safely.
To make matters worse, they refused to stand behind their work and wanted another $8,000 from me to fix a problem caused by the original build. There was no real accountability, no proper warranty support, and no effort to make the situation right after spending tens of thousands of dollars with them.
If you’re considering using this shop for a high-performance build, especially a boosted application, I strongly recommend doing extensive research first and getting EVERYTHING in writing. My experience cost me a lot of money, time, stress, and a destroyed engine.
Extremely disappointed with how this entire situation was handled.
