Don't waste your time or money!
I was in recently to buy a Subaru at Jim's Auto Center and thought I was getting a great deal. As the saleswoman told me about the vehicle, I noticed she was stretching the truth about the vehicle (lying about the mileage, how the gps system was only included in the newer models), but not to the point where I would call her out for it. After a test drive I decided that this car would be a great fit for me! I filled out the paperwork inside and we came out to someone working under the hood of the car which I didn't think much about. I drove it off the lot and got about 4 miles down the highway before the check engine light, abs light, and oil temp light all came on and started flashing, which it hadn't done on the test drive. I pulled over on the side of the highway, incredibly disappointed, to give them a call. I was told over the phone "not to worry, this happens all the time." I brought the car back, they took it to the shop owned by the same family across the street, and assured me again that "everything was going to workout, this happens all the time". After multiple phone calls to the Subaru service center I was told by Jim's auto center that there was an issue with my transmission but it would be under an extended warranty. By this point I was rightfully concerned that I had only driven 4 miles and the transmission had gone out and asked for my money back. The lady helping me from before (I can't remember her name) was very vague and reluctant to provide me with any answer. She relentlessly offered different solutions to the problem which made me more and more unsettled about the business and vehicle I had purchased. I ended up calling the Subaru service center independently was told that they have far many more unhappy customers coming from Jim's Auto center than happy ones. He recommended that I get my money back and leave. Later on in the day, the Subaru service center called me to tell me that the extended warranty I had been informed about by Jim's Auto center wasn't actually going to cover my car. I felt like I had been taken advantage of and the truth had been stretched multiple times in the process of them selling me the broken vehicle. I'm not an experienced car buyer and wanted to feel confident in the vehicle I was purchasing. There is absolutely no way I would recommend buying a car from Jim's Auto Center unless you plan on driving it problem free for less than 5 miles.
