My experience with My Mechanic Shop in Rohnert Park was beyond disappointing and frustrating. From start to finish, the level of incompetence and unprofessionalism was astounding.
I brought my Subaru in for repairs hoping for a straightforward process. However, I had to call them over five times just to get an estimate. Each time I called, instead of discussing my car, I was bombarded with complaints about their personal problems. It was as if my car was an inconvenience to their therapy session.
After five days of waiting, I finally received an estimate—verbally quoted at $4000. But when the written estimate arrived, it had somehow skyrocketed to $6500 without any explanation. When I dared to inquire about this massive increase, they became defensive and started ranting about their personal lives again, completely avoiding the issue.
The owner, or who I think was the owner named Steve, was downright rude when I asked for clarification. They abruptly told me to pick up my car and refused to continue the repairs, even resorting to swearing at me over the phone. I left feeling bewildered and decided to write a review of my experience.
When I went to collect my car, they had conveniently "lost" the estimate in their system. They then had the audacity to demand $189 for the trouble, which mysteriously dropped to $100 if I agreed to remove my review. I paid under duress for an estimate that had conveniently vanished.
To add insult to injury, my car remains unfixed, and I'm now on the hunt for a reliable mechanic. Avoid this place at all costs—their customer service is appalling. They blame their customers for their own personal problems, yell at you for asking legitimate questions, and even try to bribe you to erase negative feedback.
Furthermore, trying to reach the owner was like pulling teeth. I was given multiple names—Brian, Steve, Dave, Miller—by the unhelpful front desk staff, who harassed me with calls demanding I disclose the nature of my call. This level of unprofessionalism and deceit is simply unacceptable. Steer clear of this mechanic shop if you value your time, money, and sanity.
