"Does not stand behind their product!"
I began experiencing steering issues about 2 weeks ago (excessive movement and clicking when I turned the steering wheel). I went to my local mechanic, and he told me that he identified the problem and that there was a recall. I called this dealership and advised them of my issue, and made an appointment; I also had a seat belt recall. When I went to my appointment the service manager would not take the recall information I had written down, saying she could look it up. After the mechanics evaluated the issue, the service manager told me it was not a safety issue, so they would not repair it without me paying because it was an "extended warranty" item and not a safety issue. When I drive a car and the steering wheel has an extra inch or more of "play" which impacts my steering, especially on curvy roads, I strongly consider this a safety concern. The service manager told me herself that this problem is occurring in almost all of the Sonatas. So you know it is a system-wide problem/discrepancy/defect, but you won't correct the problem?? That is very bad business! I will certainly keep this in mind when I shop for a new vehicle in the future, and I can assure you that at this point, this is my first, AND LAST, Hyundai purchase.
