I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but I feel like people need to know about my experience.I originally went in because my A/C compressor had gone out. I was quoted around $1,500 for the repair. I couldn’t afford that, so the employee referred me to Acima for financing. He explained that if I chose the 3-month plan, my payments would be around $400-$600 per month. I told him multiple times that I absolutely could not afford payments that high. He then told me that after making my first payment, I could switch to a 12-month lease and my payments would only be around $100-$150 per month. He also said the extra interest over the year would only be about $300-$500. Based on that information, I agreed because those payments were something I believed I could manage.None of that turned out to be true. After everything was finished, I started looking into the prices I had been charged. Labor was only $160, and they used three cans of refrigerant. I called several other repair shops and auto parts stores, and they all told me that a rebuilt compressor generally costs around $400-$500, not the price I was charged. I was also charged around $600 for a serpentine belt, even though the part itself typically costs around $60-$100. Multiple places told me those prices were extremely inflated. What makes this even worse is that I didn’t find out until after I received the paperwork that my vehicle supposedly needed an additional part besides the compressor. I also noticed they were asking me to leave them a review before I had any chance to discover that the information I’d been given about the financing wasn’t accurate. Looking back, that feels very misleading. I was already in a difficult situation. I rely on my vehicle to DoorDash so I can support myself and my daughter, and I needed working A/C for both of us during the summer. They knew my situation. My daughter was sitting there with me while everything was being discussed, and I made it very clear what I could and could not afford. Instead of helping me, I now feel like I’m stuck with payments I never would have agreed to if I had been given accurate information. I feel like I was convinced to sign paperwork based on promises that weren’t true. What really broke my heart was going back to the dealership and seeing another customer signing the exact same financing paperwork that I had signed. I honestly felt bad for her because I worried she might end up in the same situation. If I had recordings, witnesses, or enough evidence to prove everything that was said, I would seriously consider taking legal action. I know exactly what I was told, and I stand by every word of this review. The only positive thing I can say is that the repair came with a one-year warranty. With everything I’m paying, it should. But if you have issues after the sale, don’t expect much help from the dealership. They simply tell you to contact the leasing company. If you’re considering doing business here, please do your research. Read all of the reviews before signing anything, especially if you’re thinking about financing. I wish someone had warned me first. I truly hope no one else ends up in the same position I did. And yes chatgpt wrote this for me bc my original review that was about that long or longer wasn’t accepted! 0/10 DONT RECOMMEND!!!
