Overall, we’ve been happy with the 2023 ionic five. Within too much of each other we had the ICCU fixed and the 12 V battery replaced, of course, both under warranty. We have been quite annoyed about the fact that we’ve not yet received our adapter for our battery charger, which we signed up to receive in the very beginning. We hope this matter will be resolved soon or we reflect negatively and how we view customer service at the corporate level. The car size is great. We’ve gotten as much as 370 miles for a charge in the summer if we’re going on a long road trip, and the interior is very comfortable, especially the heated seats and the heated steering wheel, which are great for my back and hand issues which are neuropathy related. I still believe that it’s the best EV SUV out there, but other car companies are closing the gap. The other upside is that we got a free charging unit to put on our house and $600 towards this installation. That was appreciated. The service department at our local Hyundai dealer has been responsive to our needs especially the repairs for the ICCCU and a 12 V battery. I would like Hyundai corporate to consider putting gel batteries as a 12 V batteries in instead of what they offer now gel 12 V batteries are far superior and their longevity is much better.

Issues with both batteries have been repaired in a timely fashion. We are still waiting and have been a communication with Hyundai regarding our charger adapter. We would like resolution to this issue soon, because it limits our travel. This is the free adapter that we signed up to receive back when we were invited, and we keep being told there’s a supply problem, but I don’t accept that, simply because the dealer can get one for me and then when I charge me $265, when Hyundai promised a free adapter early last year that we signed up for and have a case number four at the moment. So please resolve this quickly so we can travel a bit more to our friends in our retirement. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Fun car to drive!

I've been very happy with my Ioniq 5. It's a ton of fun to drive, and thankfully, I have not had any issues with the 12V battery or the ICCU.

Great first EV and a great overall package

Since leasing the Ioniq 5 over 2 years ago, it has become our go to road trip vehicle. Fast charging means we almost never have to wait on the car to charge. By the time we pop in to use the bathroom and get a fresh drink or a bite to eat, the car is ready for the next leg. The car is quiet and very comfortable on the highway with plenty of space for us, our dog, and our luggage.

Initial Quality Control Issues

Significant Issues surrounding the Charge Controller. This was complicated by poor dealer service. The dealer is more focused on selling and not servicing. I was stranded several times because the battery (the 12V one) kept dischargind and was not being charged by the main battery.

Nice, But Too Much Of An iPad

The car is comfortable, great for around town, and has plenty of pick up and handling. I like it, but I really don't like the touch screen. Unfortunately, all of the TVs have them. Why is it we have to use a hands free phone but they give us a screen to look at instead of tactile knobs we can use by touch without looking at the dash? Also, the speedometer is in a bad location and there are no options to rearrange the dash in a logical order. We can change colors, but not functions. Hmm....

It is a decent vehicle with a fast depreciation and a lot of plastic.

It is a pretty decent vehicle. Had an issue with door panels coming apart replaced after a few trips. Heater failed under warranty and was replaced. Handling could be better. It is spacious and a nice hatchback.

2 years plus, and i still love it!

I've been driving this car over two years now and still absolutely love it. There's only a couple of things I would change about it.Whether it's been a solid car. It was our first EV and weve been so happy with driving an EV that weve purchased a 2nd one (mini cooper) with shorter range for around town.

Dead Battery takes MONTHS to fix

EV battery is under warranty but will take about a year to replace. After having other battery issues twice with the ICCU and 12-volt.

For such an expensive vehicle, it is surprisingly basic. I would expect a full 360 degree camera setup and got a backup view only. No rear window wiper/washer. No sunroof. My overall opinion is likely clouded due to the extremely poor dealer experience. I expected more. Best vehicle I have owned

The Ioniq5 is an efficient, fun-to-drive vehicle. It is comfortable, spacious, and non-ostentatious. The Highway Drive Assist (HDA) features are highly effective at reducing driver fatigue while maintaining safety. The HDA, comfort, and "roominess," combined with fast-charging capabilities, make the Ioniq5 an ideal vehicle for long-distance and vacation travel, while serving perfectly as a commuter car for short-distance, everyday driving.
