Best electric by far for the money.

I like the way the center console moves back and forth and the flat floor. The human engineering of the drivers panel is great. The Ioniq 5 does not have nearly as good of radio reception as my 2016 Avalon and the auto high beams does not work.

Great car with some flaws

Overall The ionic is an excellent car. Rides very smoothly and once I had a charging station installed at my home, very easy to charge. However, there are some flaws that I think would prevent me from purchasing the car again. The back window does not have a wiper and makes it very hard to see when it's raining. Not sure how they got away with not putting one in due to the angle of the back window. Also, the door handles when it snows often gets snow caught in the door handle and as a result sometimes the doors do not fully close during the winter. This can be a bit concerning when driving and you notice the door is not fully locked or closed.

Issue with entertainment system

If you play FM or any radio. Then you connect to Bluetooth, and try to switch to Bluetooth audio for playing stuff from your phone. It will not work. If you click Bluetooth audio on entertainment system it will go to FM radio.

Fun Car but Frustrating Issues

Apple CarPlay must be wired or you need to buy an adapter. The port for the wired system or when using an adapter causes crackling in the speakers. The mileage is always less than estimated. I wish the sunroof opened.

Great car, but needs more range. Especially in winter.

The car is great and always drives well and is a joy to own. The only downside to this car is the range and with a charger at home, it’s not a major issue. In the winter, the range isn’t great and doesn’t make a good car for any drive over 75-100 miles.

Problems for two years.

I have had a BMS problem since April of 2014. Vehicle has been in and out of the shop for almost two years. Hyundai refused a buy back. So I am stuck with this vehicle and don’t know if it is fixed or not.

One year anniversary evaluation

The expected range of 260 miles is never realized. In the summertime with air-conditioning going just over 200 miles, winter time with heat add heating accessories 220 miles. Somewhat annoying, constant reminders of all sorts of things.

Very good and reliable vehicle.

This vehicle has proven to be very reliable, serving well for daily commuting to work as well as running errands around town. It offers a sporty feel while driving, with comfortable seats that make longer rides more enjoyable. The interior is spacious, particularly in the rear, providing plenty of room for passengers. While overall satisfied, there are several reasons for giving this vehicle a four-star rating. Some features can be inconvenient. For instance, the door handles are quite noticeable when the vehicle is unlocked, making it obvious if you forget to lock the car after walking away. Although it is possible to set up alerts for unlocked doors, the feature does not fully mitigate the issue. The touch sensitivity on the driver's door, which is intended to unlock all doors, does not always function reliably. Another point of contention is the automatic rear hatch. This feature is helpful when carrying groceries, as it opens automatically, but it does not unlock the rest of the vehicle. This can be inconvenient when accompanied by young children, as they cannot enter the car until your hands are free to unlock the doors. Additionally, the rear hatch has a tendency to open unintentionally when the keys are in your pocket and you are near the back of the vehicle, which can be a nuisance during certain activities.
