More than once I come in and the initial estimate from the look over has one charge, but ends up being a good deal less expensive once they went and did the actual maintenance.
This last time I came in for an oil change and to have my break pads replaced. I specifically came in telling them this is what I am coming in for, and the mechanic told me the break pads and rotors look fine. In fact he says they look like they will last a good while. It's hard to find that kind of honesty these days.
