Subaru
My fiance and I went here to look at an older Subaru impreza and right off the bat the salesman seemed sketchy. Personally I know a lot about subarus from the inside out I have rebuilt them from scratch and completely tore down these boxer engines. As soon as I started asking questions the guy looked like he wanted to run back to his office because all he could answer was I don't know or I'm not sure. On this particular year of impreza they were known for head gaskets being blown ( common to most subarus) but also the timing belts need changed at about 135-150,000 miles. We asked if it had been changed and he didn't know. The car wasnt wven state inspected and it had been there for 2 weeks at this point. The mechanic for the shop was just sitting playing on his phone when there was clearly work to be done. Overall just got a bad feeling from this guy. Especially when. I told him I owned a few Subarus and told him I had an older outback and a newer BRZ. He then asked y I still had the outback, I have it for the winter because my BRZ is rear wheel drive. These cars have been out since 2013 and he didn't know they even existed. These aren't super cars. Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ and Toyota gt86 are extremely common cars. This guy didn't know anything about cars nor did he know anything about how to sell a car. He also was clueless about how the financial side of the car buying worked and needed us to get a loan through our bank to buy the car they had no in house financing. In my opinion any respectable car lot should either have a buy here pay here system set up, or have a bank that they work with for financing.
