Tried to take me to the cleaners
I've had good experiences here in the past. Brought in my Jeep Patriot for an overall eval + AC recharge. They found a rusted engine cradle and bad alternator. On the phone said the alternator was $750 and the engine cradle $900-$1000 with a used part. Said labor on the alternator was 2hrs and cradle 5.5hrs. Labor rate $107/hr

I checked.
Alternator NEW - $252 from O'Reilly's + $214 labor = $466
Engine crossbar NEW - $220 from multiple vendors + $588.50 = $808.50

$1274 vs $1650-$1750
Used/reconditioned parts would have saved more money.

Turns out the engine cradle was a known problem with Jeeps and there was an extended warranty on that - something a repair shop should have been aware of. Son in law is a mechanic and said he replaced an alternator last week on a similar vehicle and it took 30 minutes. He thought the other labor est. was excessive as well.

I paid $159 for the privilege of getting screwed. Never again.
