Thanks Kathy for the kind words. Glad we could help.
I’m very sorry you feel we broke your hood latch while performing a Vermont safety inspection on your 1992 Volvo. A normal working hood latch will release when opened and hold when closed. Unfortunately, part of the inspection process is to make sure the hood safety latch works. Spanky, the inspection technician, pulled your hood release to open the hood but upon trying to close it was unable to. We explained that to the person who brought the car in for you. He told us that there was a ”trick” to closing it and that he could do it. This would indicate that there had been some sort of problem with the hood latch before we touched it. Your person tried but was unable to get the hood to stay closed. Please keep in mind, as stated on the invoice, we will re-inspect your car within 2 weeks of the original inspection and only charge you the $2.21 fee the state charges us.
