The combination of being a 50 year car enthusiast who has always done most of my own repairs and improvements - and now being 70+ years old is frustrating. Not being able to speak with the guy doing the work even more so. I have no issues with the quality of the services (timing chain, ignition issues). So it finally comes down to "trust". Being handed a bill far higher than was quoted "out the door" doesn't help the trust part. So I believe the work was probably needed, I'll have to trust it was.
