I traded in a Chevy last May. This week I received a letter from the city of Chicago that “my” Chevy had been towed and I was responsible for the impound fees. IL Secty of State also sending reminders to renew license plates. I have called Happy Hyundai every day this week. First spoke to Ariel in finance who said: “we sold it at auction.” So basically not his problem. Next day spoke to Kaitlyn Wentz who promised to “look into it” and call me back same day. It’s now 2 days later and no reply from her either. Each time I call Happy I’m transferred to someone’s voicemail. I’m just asking for a copy of the title transfer but they won’t even contact me to say they’re investigating what happened. They just ignore my pleas. I’m very frightened by this whole situation. If that car is involved in a crime and 8m listed as the legal owner I could be liable. This is at best poor customer service and at worst illegal. Ive reached out to the media as I feel I have no other choice.
