when I got them replaced last year.He said he didn’t believe it was the spark plugs as he has never heard of them going bad before 20,000 miles. He said he looked it up and they were showing 100,000 miles life span. I asked him if he could just test them to see if they were good, he stated he didn’t want me to waste money putting work into my car that didn’t need to be done. He recommended me doing a deeper diagnostic which cost $199 I was skeptical because I was pretty sure it was the plugs. Since he is the mechanic and putting my trust in his opinion I said go ahead. Not even 40 minutes later he calls and said yes the plugs are bad. I was really frustrated being he made me think there was no way possible it was them. He stated it would be another $272 to replace the plugs all four. I said is there anything you can do since I spoke to you about it being the plugs and you steered me in a different direction , he said he felt it was a deeper issue, he said we had an extensive conversation and all I can do is apply a $40 credit which I looked into later and that was a promotion they were offering if you spend over $500 you get $40 off which I did that day.So really he didn’t do anything for me, I feel taking advantage of I feel he didn’t take my concern seriously and had me agree to an unnecessary diagnostic fee for nothing. I feel he could of lower or did away with that fee all together being his advice was not accurate. I trusted him as a professional. They have done work on my vehicles before along with my kids cars as well. I trust the work they perform I just feel scammed out of $200. They didn’t seem to care as a business. Also the free code scan they do is the same code scan you can get at Auto Zone. I have had good experiences with them in the past. I will definitely be more cautious.next time when trusting the professionals. But I feel as a business you should take some accountability for your misinformation and now they know that spark plugs can go bad before 20,000miles.
