Purchase/Service Problems
I took my car here several times for engine stalling right after I purchased it in 2016 and they could not tell me what was wrong with it. The third time the manager road around with me to try and the "catch" the issue. It never worked and I was told to bring it back when it did and he would ride with me again. Well I just ignored the issue as they could not figure it out. It started back firing and when I took it in they said it was the catalytic converter. It started to rattle like two weeks later, they never called me back. When I went there they told me it would be another $100 just to look at it and I had just given them $1400 plus the $500 for a rental for a week. They never once looked in the computer record to see that I had been having the same issue since I purchased eh vehicle. Another mechanic told me it was low on it. After that I was putting 2-3 quarts of oil every 2wks. When I finally saved up more money, I made an appointment just for them to tell me I needed an engine. Never once did they say why it was still stalling and backfiring. They told me I was due for an oil change in January and it was January 21st. Honestly, after putting new oil in every 2wks and still getting oil changes about every 2 months how is it running low on oil? My issue is that I brought it there when it was still under warranty and now that it is not I have a car that is more expensive than it is worth. Their customer service is not up to par either. While I was there waiting to be checked in I heard the receptionist tell a lady they would get her a discount on her rental and asked if she needed a ride. I walked in the hot rain for over 2 miles and paid for a rental for a week. They have a nice relationship with the company I purchased and rented the car from and never once was that taken into account. Now here I am upside down in a car loan from the corrupt Santander with a car that was never right from the beginning. The loan issue is partially my fault as I was in school and was only working two days a wk. But the fact of the matter is that the car was never right in the beginning and I took it to the dealership hoping they would fix it as they were manufacturer. I went there and they told me it would be 8K for the work but the car is only worth 5K and there is nothing they can do. Now I receive emails, postcards, and letters, etc talking about buying a new car or 15% off the work. I never asked to be solicited too and I feel like that is illegal. All I want is to be set right! Wether that be with it fixed right or a new car. They can take the price of the work off the price of a new car and we would be square. I would say buyer beware but if you are anything like me reading this, it is too late.
