Tire repair
I came in to fix one of my tires which started losing air. The attendant was friendly & explained to me what they can do to fix it. Luckily he found tge issue & was able to plug the hole that was caused by a nail.

I paid for oil change $180. I replace my oil every 5000 miles. I usually pay between 80 dollars to 130.

Bring Your Vehicle Elsewhere
I was considered a “customer” of Ken, spent multiple 1000s of dollars on repairs to the point I wondered if they were actually fixing/breaking my vehicle.

Please don’t even think of bringing your car here - Read my short/long story as to why and save yourself from such…

This review doesn’t go into repairs much actually even though it very much could, rating? 1 star or 0 if able… terrible place in the end.

To start this long review, They let one of there “”mechanics (if he is even licensed who knows) named Jevaun Bauld drive my car for his leisure for the month. He trashed my car, used my daughters NEW car seat (left it with piss stains/ garbage and all) put miles on my vehicle going who knows where and the sickest part is, I would have never known.
If i weren’t for my handy dandy dashcam (get one now for your sake!) picked it up (which in attempt to hide this activity had tried to turn the cam off/facing the cabin cam out).
So, someone who works for you just uses another persons car which supposed to be in the shop like it was nothing and when I found out, everyone was shook no one knew what, a bunch of questions marks went overhead to lets figure it out blah blah blah. They figured it out, apparently one of the managers gave him the green light to do so (what type of crook practice) and surely after I had to meet another manager who I never met before and KEN had him deal with it. How do you run a place of business and Don’t even show your face when something of criminality occurs? They were hoping I wouldn’t go to the police about this and I made sure I could get what I can without such interventions from them since this was all a hassle. Though a little chat with NYPD and apparently while my car was in this shop, it was apparently FLAGGED? Insane.

Brings me to this point - I got 2 speeding tickets with my car in there possession. This was when I said alright I have to get my car out of there cause thats horrible (it wasnt to test a repair as the repair had been done prior to these tickets - it was at 12 AM going more then 10 MPH over the limit in a school zone ) Rather they exclaim we move the car from the parking lots we use etc. okay so if that is the case (and not a random guy using my car) Dont get tickets on peoples vehicles doing so. When I asked for discounts for the inconvenience of it was a joke Ken refuses and threaten storage fees (when the car wasn’t in storage but was being used by one of there workers - sickening).

Funny thing too, when I went to pick up my vehicle and noticed all the trash and brought it to attention like some other reviewers on google did, Ken tried to blame me like that was how I gave the car… Ken my man, whos cup, reciept and garbage is this then? Whos babies uggs were in my trunk? (Remember a worker was using my car for leisure and trashed it) but, I didnt know this until I would investigate my car afterwards when things weren’t seeming right from all this and the car also smelled like black n milds.p

The shop in attempt to make things right had audacity to bring me to a man named Mano (when Ken said speak to Don which is another manager, as it was Dons fault apparently, but then I meet Mano the northern blvd location manager, in the end for him to handle it since the Jevaun guy was his mechanic at his location originally who was in trouble so they moved him to parsons? Like what difference would it make.) Your name is on the business- KEN Automobile - yet you wouldn’t even show your face nor do you know what went on with your “customers” car, which what occurred here goes against law, and your licensed mechanic shop as per DMV repair shop regulations.

Dont get me wrong everyone, talks were with my attorney, and NYPD. The shop attempted to make it right, but even them doing so, SO MUCH RESISTANCE was still being met when my vehicle, the vehicle I drive my family in, was defiled in the care (I laugh) place of business. So I just settled and stopped trying with these 3 musketeers.

Off the book workers who may or may not be licensed mechanics, unauthorized use of vehicle and everything that came with that, Resistance of trying to make it right for your so called “customer” and don’t forget, repairs that don’t stay repaired so, you will find yourself coming back (just the icing).

Thats what you will get from Kens Automobile at all 3 of his mechanic shops of crooktivity, and don’t even think of trying to price out with him. He already leverages ”Tow fees” (if he picks up your car from the 4th instance of your gasket smoking which they fix - sure) and “storage fees” (if you don’t get your car right away - even though someone may or may not be ferris bueller’ing your car.) I only couldn’t because of life, being in school/work etc.

I tell you, I couldn’t keep coming to the shop as the same issue with the car you have fixed time and time again. Not enough time for that, HOWEVER - I set just the right amount of time to type this nothing but the TRUTH review up to protect my fellow NYers.

So overall experience at all of Kens shops?

COMPLETELY HORRID.

Mana is the BEST
The folks there were very transparent and honest with the current state of my truck when I arrived after it over heating on the highway. Its hard to find a mechanic that understands car owners who do not want a newer vehicle and try to make their current one live as long as it can. These people get that and work out what you are comfortable with in steps. I will be coming back and feel comfortable. Great crew, they know what they are doing!

The entire crew at this location knew what they were doing. In addition the were so friendly, respectful and pleasant to speak with.
I don’t live far from this location so I was so pleased to find the team at this location to be easy, friendly and very knowledgeable. I waited for them to complete my inspection and it didn’t take too long.
