Hassle with a warranty replacement
I took the car to replace the break caliper under warranty because it was leaking, which they said they would. But then they said that they needed to replace break pads and rotor due to contamination by the leak. That is when things got interesting... said replacement would cost me close to $1,000. I refused since the contamination was caused by the faulty part to be replaced by warranty. They claimed a safety issue and that needed to be replaced but refused to cover it because it was a normal wear/tear part (??). At the end, they replaced the leaking caliper and "allowed me" to take the car without replacing and paying what they wanted me to pay... not much of a safety concern if they need to pay for it I guess.
At the end, it is impossible to walk away with that feeling of the dealer being a con artist trying to get money by any means possible. I get no sense of trust in these people.
