I called the dealer in the afternoon to discuss the Chevrolet SS that they had in stock. I was very much interested in a purchase and asked if I can come by in the evening to test drive it. We set a time around 6pm, an hour before closing to go see the vehicle. When I arrived, I was told by the sales guy that nobody is allowed to test drive the vehicle, a practice that I cannot understand. After further conversation with the salesman, he did realize that I am very serious about the purchase and he went back to the manager to speak to him to allow me to take the car for a spin. The manager came out, brought back a stack of papers and said that I'm not allowed to drive the car unless we agree to a deal. I'm sorry, maybe that's not normal but I don't have a habit of spending 50 thousand dollars on a vehicle that someone allowed me to only sit in. But wait, there is more! I mentioned to the manager the current deal that Chevy has on said vehicle, 20% off and he said that they are willing to honor the discount in a tone that clearly stated they hoped I would not mention it. I called several other dealers in the area, to see if this is a common practice pertaining to the Chevy SS and they all said that it's outright ridiculous. They did not have any vehicles in stock, but if they did I was allowed to test drive any vehicle no problem. I even had a dealer try to persuade me to take the new Corvette out as a substitute to the SS. Bottom line is, I highly discourage anyone from ever going to this dealer. They are not respectful, not professional, and quite frankly borderline fraudulent.
