If anyone reads this review please take a second to look at the other 1 star reviews out of over 700 that are saved to this site. You will notice a pattern with this type of customer. Omari towed this very expensive Porsche to us from the dealer where they told him that he needed a new transmission. We diagnosed the car and came to the same conclusion as the dealer. When we discussed our diagnosis with Omari he said that he could not afford a new transmission and also could not afford to rebuild the one in his car. Much to our dismay, he left the car at our shop for weeks and would not return calls or text messages. After we sent a text message informing him that we were going to put a mechanics lien on his car he called and asked if we would install a used transmission that he found online. We politely told him that we do not install customer supplied parts because after years of experience we have learned that it does not workout well for anyone concerned. However, he pleaded with us to make an exception as it would be his only way of getting the car back on the road. Against our better judgement, we agreed to install his used transmission as long as he understood that the probability of it working was extremely low and if it did not work he would still owe us for the labor to install the part. These days people need to understand that the electronic components in luxury car transmissions are expensive, complicated and have to be coded to the car which makes a used part much more dicey than in the past. Needless to say, after the installation, the used transmision was defective. Surprise! Surprise! Oh, and guess what? After we called to inform him that the part was defective he would not come pick up the car. Hard to believe isn't it. After many weeks we had to threaten to file another lien on the car and then he finally came to pick it up. He towed it to another shop thinking they could preform a miracle and get a defective part to work. As of this writing, the car is still at Vortex and we understand that they are having the same senseless issues with this customer. In a nutshell, we did everything we could do for this customer that can't afford this car and what do we get in return? A bad review that is basically dishonest. In the future we will be less accommodative as it does not pay off well.
