Beware!
First off, Rick is no longer the owner. James DeLeon bought the shop a month or so before I came in.

On July 24, 2017 I went in for an oil change on my 2012 Jeep. Items were recommended and since I was going on a trip, and knew these were coming up soon, I said yes. $600 later I left directly to go to the Sacramento area. As I got up to speed on the freeway, there was a terrible humming noise that engulfed my cab. It didn't sound dangerous so I carried on. When I got back in town I went back, the front desk receptionist (Kent) went for a ride with me and couldn't hear it. Was it me? I left and went home. Hubby couldn't hear it either. The following week, returned to Sacramento and my parents asked me what that sound was. Again, I returned and had their mechanic (Fernando) go with me, he heard it! He was crawling all over my car to find where it was coming from. When we got back to the shop he used a mechanics stethoscope and found the sound coming from the front axle. Was this a coincidence that it started as soon as I left their shop? Had a long talk with the owner and said I would remove my review if I was taken care of . . . Review removed.

On February 2, 2018, my water pump decided to spring a leak. Unfortunately, our regular mechanic can't do warranty work and against my better judgement, hubby said to go to Rick's. We towed my vehicle after being told if we got it down there in the next hour we would have it back that night. After all going around and around with them calling the warranty company, we decided to replace the timing chain, not covered under warranty, and was given an estimate of $1,400. Really? The part was $525 and all the work besides a couple bolts was already being covered for the water pump installation. Agreed on $800 for timing chain. I got my vehicle back on the 7th. As I'm heading home, going over some dips my vehicle made sounds I've never hard before, it sounded like the front end was going to fall off. I immediately took it back. As the owner and mechanic (not Fernando) laughed at my explanation and discussed something in Spanish, when they opened my hood, they realized my battery was not bolted to the plate and was just freewheeling. I leave for home and again more noises coming from the front and back ends while going over speed bumps/dips. I take it back, the owner rode with me and said I need new struts and shocks, the front desk receptionist (Nate) explained that my tires are wearing from bad struts and shocks. I was given an estimate.

Struts and shocks not being covered by my warranty, I went to my regular mechanic. He gave me an estimate, but also said he doesn't think that's what the sound is. What were the chances of front and back going out at the same time? We put it on the hydraulic lift, while waiting for his next customer, and found that someone had taken the rear spare tire plate guard and bent it back in such a way that it got in the way of my shocks and that it was getting hit as the car bounced. It was put back in position and *poof* sound gone. Shocks are good. My mechanic tested my struts and shocks one more time and said they're fine. The sound in the front end needed to be looked at later, as his customer showed for his appointment.

Since I forgot to pick up my remaining anti-freeze, I went back to Rick's to pick it up and asked for the owner. He's gone. I discussed the situation with Nate and he said that "irregardless of the plate being moved", my tires are wearing funny and IT IS my struts/shocks. I wasn't discussing my tires, I was discussing how is it possible that the tire guard was bent out of position when all the work being done was in the front of my vehicle? And at the same time, as soon as I said that the plate was bent, the mechanic (again, not Fernando), who supposedly doesn't speak English, got wide-eyed and darted into the shop. This discussion went on for about 10 minutes. I was being scolded for going to another mechanic and said I was being accusatory and was asked to leave. And yet, Nate really never heard my concerns while he was busy loudly talking over me and meanwhile degrading my intelligence. I left.

Not knowing anything about tires, I went to where I bought my tires just a few months prior for their opinion They said it's normal wear and tear, they gave a few bounces on my bumpers and said the shocks and struts are fine. I went to another tire dealership and received the same answer.

The following Friday I went back to my mechanic. He doubled checked their work and found multiple loose bolts. Most weren't going to hurt anything, but one was the lower radiator hose clamp. Which in minimal time, with the water pressure going through, would leave stranded. And again *poof*, sound gone. So, no, I won't be going back.
