Simply Awful Management
I took my car to SCS AUTO REPAIR after my check engine light came on unsure of what could be wrong, when I first arrived there was only one person working in the office her name was Katy and she was on the phone so I patiently waited as I obviously saw she was pretty busy, after about a 15 to 20 minute I was finally addressed. I informed her of what happened, “check engine light came seen a little smoke maybe have been fog due to the cold weather in the morning however I need to know what’s going on” she assured me everything would be taken care, they would need to do a diagnostic and she call me When the results from that diagnostic was received. I was shuttled home and did not hear anything for the rest of the day. By the next morning I had to call to find out what was going on as I had been told nothing initially the first person I spoke informed me they had just got in and had not known the status of my vehicle and that I would be receiving an update shortly. After a while I received a call from Katy informing me that my car had an oil leak however more testing needed to be done in order to find out exactly where the leak was coming from $140 dollars for this “additional testing” I okayed the additional testing and asked if she had spoken to my warranty as I figured this type of repair should be covered under my warranty and we had spoken about that briefly when I dropped the car off. I was told she hadn’t spoken to them yet that she needed the additional testing to be done before she spoke to them so that she knew what exactly it was she was telling them needed to be repaired, which was understandable. After a whole business day and weekend went by I was informed by Katy that I needed a whole new whole oil filter housing unit and front crank seal $1,532 worth of repairs and that she was trying again to reach my warranty still, she asked if I wanted her to proceed with the services or at least the oil change I immediately stated “ NO, please hold off on that, hold off on everything!” Because of the price and the fact that she hadn’t spoken to my warranty so I didn’t know if I would have any financial help paying for the repairs I did NOT want them to proceed with ANY work at all. Eventually I was told by Katy that my warranty was not going to cover the repairs, per my warranty due to “lack of maintenance“ which they assumed after Katy telling them there was absolutely zero oil in my engine wasn't true either as I had explained to her I had a history of maintaining my car and oil changes, and in a later conversation she expressed “at least she knows now not to tell the warranty company that” After notifying them that I would be picking my vehicle up and receiving my receipt for what should have only been the diagnostic I seen another charge $234 dollars and was told it was for an oil change, I immediately called and spoke to Katy and informed her I was not going to pay for an oil change, I specifically asked for them to “HOLD OFF” on any further work and it made ABSOLUTELY to pay for an oil change when I have an ENGINE LEAKING OIL. per Katy she stated she would take off the oil change. Once I finally arrived to pick up my vehicle outside of the diagnostic I still had a charge of $35 dollars when inquiring what the charge was for I was told “it was the oil from the oil change” I sadly had to inform her again I was NOT PAYING for anything pertaining to an oil change that I specifically asked to not be done, As I informed Katy in front of her team that is like me putting a water filter on the faucet telling the customer they need to pay me for the filter and now the filtered water knowing that the pipe is missing from the bottom of their sink and water is still going to leak out, it made absolutely zero sense and instead of providing me quality customer service and empathy I received attitude and a sly remark of “ what do you want me to do about it?” For the Third Time I had to inform them to remove anything from my bill pertaining to an oil change. I have never received such horrible service and communication. I was able to get my car repaired having everything covered by my warranty after taking it to Meineke. I will never again deal with small car service auto repair.
