Mr. Clark we are sorry you had a negative experience and appreciate the honest review. For others that might be reading this review, my name is Will and I’m the one who does most of the Intoxaloc installations
The Intoxaloc (lock box) is a ignition interlock device for people who have been convicted of DUII, It is a fairly complicated system with multiple relay and control boxes along with GPS, cell phone transceivers and cameras, all of which must be installed under the dash while standing on your head upside down in the foot well of the drivers compartment. Suffice to say it is one of my least favorite jobs to perform.
In regards to the hood light, generally the intoxaloc install doesn’t require work under the hood, except to check the condition of the battery, and as such wouldn’t require me to disengage the hood light. If I’m not mistaken it is either a matter of re-plugging in the light or tilting the light hood back into position to reengage it, a 5 second fix.
In regards to a loose screw that made its way behind the brake pedal, are you certain it was a loose screw from the install or just a random screw? If it was a screw from the install I’m sorry, I do make mistakes, plastic dash parts are sometimes less sturdy than I would like…
As far as forgetting to “Connect the camera” the camera was connected and only needed the sticker removed off the adhesive and stuck to the window, I sometimes leave this till last to get proper positioning and just forgot, again I’m human, again a 5 second fix.
What’s not mentioned is the time and care I go through to install these devices, I’ve seen and removed many others work, and no one pays the attention and care I do when doing the wiring on these, NO ONE!
