made for the autobahn
This is the most kick-ass car I've owned, and I've been an enthusiast my entire life. Stickered at $80K when new in 2002, they imported only around 1200 of these vehicles to the US from 2001-2003. When driving, you quickly discover how engineering dollars were spent. For a car that weighs a little over 4,000 pounds, it's incredibly athletic and agile. Corners on rails but is poised and controlled. Pulls hard and smooth to redline and begs for more. The tiptronic is very nice, but I'd rather have the 6 speed manual that came on the European models. On the highway the car becomes as animal. The faster you go, the faster it wants to go, but it feels even more planted and solid. Interior is a masterpiece in my opinion. Dashboard layout, amenities, and leather seats remind you that you're in a high-end vehicle. I hesitantly put snows on and drove it through the winter - a total beast. Didn't skip a beat. Tough and durable. I challenge you to find a nicer looking 4 door sedan out there. But it's much more than a looker. Top speed is 155 MPH, but only because of the limiter placed on the engine. Fuel is supposed to be cutoff at that speed. Remove that limitation and the car does 180 PMH.
