A Great Motor Venhicle with a limitation: parts are archived
This is a great vehicle. The only problem is that, like everything else, it responds to the malignant effects of age.The Dodge dealership no longer makes many of the parts. There fore, when some items wear out or failed because of accients, the only option is to find a suitable and serviceable replacement from an auto salvage. Sometimes Auto Supply houses like O'Reilly's or Auto Zone can help you out.
The design concept of the 1997 Intrepid is excellent. There is a lot of leg room, great for larger people and if you carry passengers, especially adults. The trunk space easily accommodates a full size spare (I ordered an extra tire rim, although a serviceable could be located at an auto salvage.Plus a collapsed wheel chair easily. This makes the well maintained 1997 Intrepid an excellent choice for a vehicle if there is a handicapped person in the family. I have 183,000 miles on the current odometer and when I fuel;ed up from this same road trip where the recent hydraulic hose mishap occurred, my gpm was 29.3.mileage rate. The engine is a V-6.
