My Blue Sonoma

I purchased my 2000 GMC Sonoma back in the year 2000 right off of the GMC Belmont lot it was sitting in the back of a dealership which I found out had recently arrived from another dealership in Ohio so it was not out front but once I spotted it I knew that was the one. So I asked if it was for sale they said yes and handed me the keys for test ride and I knew I was buying it as soon as I got in the vehicle which back in 2000 it was still an affordable vehicle. As time has gone by there's been the usual issues with these specific Vehicles which I repaired and replaced all the issues up-to-date and even installed several performance parts on it to increase the horsepower and power output such as more torque and Seed in the pants feel. With the little brother of the Chevy 350 which this engine is with only two cylinders missing they took a Chevrolet 350 V8 block remove two cylinders and voila got your 4.3 there and they're known to go up to and past 500,000 miles without a engine rebuild. So for 24 years I have driven it and continued to drive it until I find another truck used that I can afford as it goes now nothing is Affordable that's any good and the new vehicles these days really are far to head with technology and they having many issues with the electronics and software problems. Not to mention the crazy prices they've raised prices 60% since just four or five years ago seems like. But quality has suffered and that is a problem so I will keep driving my Sonoma it's got it the awesome 4L60 E transmission. The vehicle was just safety inspected and tested for emissions a few days ago and passed again and I see no major issues coming up with it so I will keep it is my daily driver. In my garage is a 1985 Chevrolet S10 Blazer two wheel drive which I purchased new in September of 1985 for $11,500 which would be a bargain these days but with the Wimpy V6 engine which was a 2.8 L carbureted engine non computer feedback model it's suffered greatly in horsepower torque so around 1990 companies were coming out with V8 swap kit for the S10 and I went ahead and purchased that and my first V8 engine and I was sold on that and now I'm on my third V8 engine which was a professionally built by your race engine shop puts out more horsepower than I can use. I kept it looking stock inside and out and until you hear the engine you think it's a stock S10 but it's not. I've had it in many many car shows since 1992 and 153 trophies and plaques so far. Most of those are first place.

It’s 20 years old and still going strong ! Has 4wheel drive although I don’t get to use that much as I can’t get it out of garage in wintertime as the snow plowing blocks me in. I would drive it more if I could get it out.

Great

For a used vehicle with a lot of mileage, this is a great buy. I did spend some money in correcting some of the issues after I purchased this vehicle . Lots of power for a small V6. A/C is great as well the heating option.
