Need More For the Money

The auto braking system is set too sensitive and is jarring when it activates - scary. The fuel injection has the engine revving and the engine sounds like a diesel between 1.2 rpm and 1.5 rpm. The dealership is horrible to work with. I have told them the last 2 times I got my oil changed that something is wrong with the fuel injection system and they say its going to be 3 days before a diagnostic machine is available and there are no loaner vehicles they can provide while they keep my car for three days. I think Hyundai is trying to play in the luxury space but failing. If I could get rid of this vehicle I would.

Reliable, decent mpg, exterior trims lacking ( or lack of local QC?)

Just over 5k miles. A little underpowered, but otherwise a good little car. From day one the local dealership service follow through is lacking. I raised concerns on front end trims, paint finish on the hood (felt like overspray) and a scratch on the LHF wing to the salesperson (who was great) and I even raised the same things a year later (just before Christmas 2025) and the local service team have, and still never followed up with me to address.

Powerless

Twice in the first year of owning the battery failed and the car was completely locked up. Could not even open the truck or get the emergency brake off. Has to be towed to the dealer. I like the car otherwise but wish it wasn't completely computerized.

I like it for what it is, a car.

I leased the N-Line. I like it, but wish I could have gotten another SUV. I loved the Santa Fe, but they changed the style and I did not like the new look. I opted for the Sonata and it is nice, and fun, but a different experience. I feel like my engine is a bit jerky and I have been rear-ended in this car TWICE this year...which is absolutely wild, considering I have not been in an accident in over 15 years.. which isn't the cars fault... but still. It is nice, but I don't want another Sonata, I hope to get another SUV when my lease is up. Also--BEWARE--I was charged for turning my last lease in early (which I didn't realize it was early until it was too late) and the fee that went on my credit, dropped my score by EIGHTY POINTS. I have been trying for the last year to get my credit back up. I guess it is the shoddy business of the dealer, but I think everyone should know.

Not loving it

Had a 2019 and loved it, upgraded and have had nothing but problems since. Was in the shop for total of 2.5 months before it was even a year old.

Hyundai Sonata 2024.

.1. 1. The vehicle is too low to the ground, with the result that design features have been dislodged. 2. The ignition is erratic. 3. The dashboard display is so poorly backlit that it is often impossible to read. 4. The cruise control often does not engage properly though the adaptive cruise control feature is excellent. 5 The LKA feature is reliable and an excellent addition to the vehicle. 6. The automatic high beams do not always engage properly. 7. Gas usage is excellent (over 32 mph from date of purchase). I would appreciate the chance to speak with somebody to provide remedial action, particularly about the dashboard.

Nothing but issues

Have had issues with the car starting since one week after purchasing it brand new. Hyundai service always states no problem is recorded onto car’s computer. Also issues with tire pressure monitoring system and BlueLink. These issues have been ongoing for a year and a half without resolution. Hyundai corporate had also not been able to assist with problems and I am stuck with an unreliable vehicle.
